Caryn E. Kreitzer
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Windsor Terrace

ARTIST STATEMENT: I am drawn to clay because of its responsive and earthy qualities. I’ve been working with clay for many years, graduating from the University of Tennessee with an MFA in Ceramics in 1986. I’m inspired by many periods of historical ceramics, Persian, Minoan, Japanese Oribe, and many more. All through my practice of making art I have drawn and experimented with other 2-D mediums to create my art. Now I am experimenting with painting, pastel, collage and encaustics. Whatever the materials I always strive to bring a strong life force and boldness to my work. One that seeks to connect with the universal, the spirit of our humanity. I have shown my work throughout the US, additionally my work is in the Koryn Shoto Kai, Tokyo Japan, and in the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, Italy.
