I am a multidisciplinary artist. I create site specific installations, sculptures, abstract paintings
and performance. I was born and grew up in Japan, moved to New York in 2000. Currently I work
in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Crossan works in a layering process that consists of acrylic paint, oil pastels and charcoal. Each
layer is filled with anxieties of the everyday life of being an artist. The top layer seals the layers
with its larger color fields.
Alicja Gaskon uses lines and maps to tell stories about conflict, borders, migration and identity. In
many of Gaskon’s works, mapping becomes a narrative process through which the artist
investigates social and political spaces and ne
