I am a multidisciplinary artist. I create site specific installations, sculptures, abstract paintings
and performance. I was born and grew up in Japan, moved to New York in 2000. Currently I work
in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Drawings are portals into endless expanse and black holes. I am interested in converting these
daily, ordinary effects into repetitive, psychedelic abstractions, creating depth and sublime from

In my work I establish a sense of a place without being a specific location, by applying a myriad of
crisscrossing lines overlapping and juxtaposed with shapes that allude to topographic and ancient
hand made maps of cities.
In this series of drawings I reference the body directly by using hair as the impetus for my forms. I
play with color, form and abstraction while exploring the hairs subjective properties as a cheap
commodity and personal signifier.
