Intaglios, collagraphs, monotypes printed on delicate Japanese papers, collaged over my own artist-
made papers are one aspect of my work; there are also mixed-media collages using colored pencils
over colored inks, and other materials.
Matthew C. Wilson is an artist working in a variety of media including installation, sculpture, video,
and site specific action; his work distills constellations extracted from entwined natural, historical,
cultural, and economic process.
Awareness of the vibrational nature of the universe informs every aspect of my work: gilded paintings with metal leaf, pigments, crystals and mother-of-pearl or digital prints of painted gouache mandalas.
My work explores science, nature and technology in paint, print and mixed media. I recognize and use natural imagery fragments as elements of aesthetic intrigue, extracting components for intellectual mind play for the viewer's experience.
