In the series, "Runaways," a female protagonist goes on adventures accompanied by various
animal companions. The work conjures a picaresque sprit familiar from adventure stories in which
a heroine navigates an exotic and unfamiliar world.
Originating in just how far I could take "fortified" paint to the point of sculpture, I now incorporate objects that imply language directly into the surface so that the paintings are a hybrid of terrain and text.
My work comprises a visual diary, where each instant is isolated as a fragment of a larger
and often unresolved narrative. My process seeks to explore those instances when we feel as if we
