I am continually fascinated by the both the differences and similarities of species and look for parallels often combining elements in the creation of a new hybrid. I look for unexpected combinations as a way to suggest new possibilities.
I'm currently working with found images primarily from sixties and seventies pictorial magazines that I interrupt with over-printed digital drawings and words which introduces a layer of commentary, free association or disruption.
Formally, my work is a study in abstract, complex, organic forms based on my childhood nightmares. I work predominantly with materials found in the waste stream like plastic bottles, junk mail & excess packaging.
Spanning painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture, my work has been largely devoted to
elements from each into cohesive entities exploring physical growth, deterioration and decay,
spiritual cycles, and celebration.
