My recent body of work uses cut paper layered with soot and encaustic to trace the gradual
reconstruction of a city after a natural disaster. These salvaged materials are reassembled into
forms that are both timeless and transient.
I make work that tries to reflect the complex relationship that humans have to nature, both
perilous and beautiful, and contradictory as we struggle to see ourselves as animals who have a
tenuous relationship to life as do all animals.
I am currently concentrating on paper crafts with an emphasis on card making but I am certainly
not limited to it. You can see some of my work on my blog. Also look for the links to my
Photobucket album to see more of my work.
