Engineered ergonomic and kinetic sculptures that express a continuum of the body in movement
in space and time based on coordination and balance activated by the artist or professional
dancers in public performances or in photos and videos.
Community enabled catharsis through the repetition of small acts that are cumulative yet transient
and for a greater good. Good citizens save a certain type of plastic from the waste stream and that
plastic I then weave into a matrix.
I am a multidisciplinary artist. I create site specific installations, sculptures, abstract paintings
and performance. I was born and grew up in Japan, moved to New York in 2000. Currently I work
in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Clifford’s work investigates the intersection of aesthetics and violence; he is currently at work on a
group of large-scale drawings based on early 20th-century carnival shooting galleries using ink
and inlaid paper.
