Formally, my work is a study in abstract, complex, organic forms based on my childhood nightmares. I work predominantly with materials found in the waste stream like plastic bottles, junk mail & excess packaging.
I work between genres of painting, drawing, installation, assemblage, photography and video to
explore process, impermanence, essentiality and serendipity through the transformation of
everyday materials and found objects.
I am a sculptor who has worked in a number of mediums. Recently I have spanned the art and design worlds. Most of what I make is made from upholstery springs and bent poplar plywood, along with steel and other metals.
My work begins with the awareness that concepts can only be understood if enacted in real time,
with direct body involvement, and through the consensus of shared experience. Bringing everyday
invisible to visible experiences.
