For the last year I’ve been working on and thinking about
pretty landscape paintings with industrial subject matter.
The working title is Pretty Industrial and the idea came to me
while I was an artist-in-residence at CAC Troy, New York.
Work includes oil and sculpture; themes gravitate toward landscapes, nature and natural
phenomena. Recent work: "Bewilderness", an outdoor art installation in a pine forest which focuses
on the tree as metaphor for non-human "other".
Rodrigo relates his graphic work with site-specific strategies to investigate the blurry limits between time and
space. Through poetical analogies of Nature and anthropogenic events his work emphasises the inadequacies of

watching the creative processes of his fatherâ€“a portrait artistâ€“and his eldest brotherâ€“a local Graffiti
Brooklyn-based photographer whose current projects include documenting burlesque performance
(Portraits in Performance, Performance in Motion), trees in the city (City Trees, Urban Roots) and
street art (Faces on the City).
