In my work the machine is simultaneously a stand-in for the figure and an icon of modernity, rationalism, and the global economy. The narrative of my machine is one of fallible logic that is both personal and globally systemic.
Robinson's work includes ceramics, sculpture and works on paper. He is the founder of the Arts +
Crafts Research Studio; dedicated to creating independent and collaborative artifacts at the
intersection of art, craft and design.
Spanning painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture, my work has been largely devoted to
elements from each into cohesive entities exploring physical growth, deterioration and decay,
spiritual cycles, and celebration.
My work deals with markmaking in the physical and metaphysical sense. Marks are evidence that
a thinking being had been there. Much like the marks on them, my paintings become placeholder
in the physical space and the societal construct.
Collages made by hand and digitally, representing my navigation of both dreamscapes and
day to day waking life, thematically inclined toward investigations of physical vs robotic,
technology and spirituality.
