My work is a collage of random thoughts and inspiration layered together through a series of
improvisational sessions. Much of the content comes from my everyday life experiences. The end
result is sometimes convoluted, and abstract. I
sean wrenn's immersive montage worlds transmute photographic memories of the East Williamsburg IBZ area focusing on the N end of Bogart St., West English Kills Canals edges, and Bushwick Branch RR tracks.
Using multiple media from the net to site installation, my work is conceptual and project based.
I’m interested in staging and visualizing the tension created when control and its release try to
coexist as a curated chaos.
In the series, "Runaways," a female protagonist goes on adventures accompanied by various
animal companions. The work conjures a picaresque sprit familiar from adventure stories in which
a heroine navigates an exotic and unfamiliar world.
In my paintings and painting installations, I rediscover and resurrect people I find in forgotten
photographs that I find at flea markets. This painting series references photos found on the wall of
a pizzeria of the workers after hours.
