I make sculptures and document the process of my object making, which involves industrial
machinery and welding; this practice is in resistance to our being defined and
harvested as dividual consumers of mass-produced symbols.
I have always been intrigued by black and white photography and have been inspired by scenes as close as my Brooklyn neighborhood and as far away as Europe. I am constantly trying to create unique photographs from familiar scenes in New Yor
My work explores the relationships between what we see and the interior, non-visible experiences
we feel. Transformation is a central theme in my work - transformation across mediums and from
2D to spatial concerns.
Rochelle is a multi-fasted artist using various mediums of artistic expression to speak to the public
on a deeper level. Whether paint, video, or objects, she has experience bringing people together to
create clear bodies of work.
