I have been exploring the philosophical and spatial state of time, dark matter, gravity, and the
presence of asteroids.
My practice is involved with sculpture, drawing, and installation.
The handmade, DIY, quality of my work, its quirkiness, across several mediums
offers a nod to minimalism yet is rife with human failure and humor.
My new work has been a great deal of focus on human beings connection to living and nonliving things in our universe. The captured series examines how a technology is used to create identity and mind control.
Growing up in Haiphong, Vietnam, Chi Nguyen is influenced by her countryâ€™s folk art, lacquer
paintings, and traditional calligraphy. She draws inspirations from a variety of subjects â€” ranging
from human emotions to contemporary struggles.
