My paintings construct spaces that contain opposing ideas; vast natural environments contained
through architecture, ephemeral landscapes seen through graphic screens, imagined places that
flip between the sublime and the personal.
My work ranges from sculptures to installations using hand-crafted works of fabric, ceramic,
photography, or video projections. My work uses everyday objects to form aesthetic connections
within history, memory,and personal experiences.
My work comprises a visual diary, where each instant is isolated as a fragment of a larger
and often unresolved narrative. My process seeks to explore those instances when we feel as if we
are mere observers to our own circumstance.
My recent body of work uses cut paper layered with soot and encaustic to trace the gradual
reconstruction of a city after a natural disaster. These salvaged materials are reassembled into
forms that are both timeless and transient.
