Site-specific , happening installations that incorporate ephemeral sculpture with photography and painting with cathartic, participatory, collaborative, destructive elements drawing on the psychology of mixing natural and urban landscapes.
Working primarily in encaustic I follow several interests in subject matter, often images of nature,
abstracted or obscured:most often decaying botanicals. Lately I am drawn to simple shapes with
little to distract from the wax surface.
Drywall, cabbage juice and coconut oil, rotting roses and cedar planks —my artwork distills a lived
experience into material reality. These materials take the shape of sculptural networks that serve
as biographical biomes.
- Investigation of the idea of landscape as the product of a social dialogue
- Collecting pieces of thinking from political encounters
- Create and manipulate environments in two and three dimensions.
